Anglomania

British style has always been a strong representation of what us Brits do best – diversity, rebellion and creativity. Ever since Vivienne Westwood, the Queen of Punk, burst on the scene 30 years ago, it is clear us Britons do style which cannot be beaten. Our willingness to disrupt, subvert a tradition of which we are proud whilst letting rules be broken is what put us on the map and enabled fellow eccentrics and fresh talents to follow suit and continue to reign supreme.
Brittique aims to continue this legacy and enable raw British talent to showcase their work on this unique boutique and show the world why it is us who set the trend. Revealing their autumn/ winter collections is a specially selected array of designers including Camilla Staerk and Craven Gene to name a few.

Camilla Staerk oozes sexuality and diversity with her A/W 06 collections as featured on Brittique.com. With her black, edgy rock chick-esque cigarette pants and Victorian inspired blouses, along with coloured hues of purple, cream, citrus lemon and deep maroon, it is little wonder this lady is every fashionista’s dream.

Craven Gene takes prim and improper to another level in its A/W 06 collection. It combines demure dresses and buttoned up collars with louche satins, luxurious velvets and delicate laces. Combining these looks with bombers, full skirted coats, tailored jeans and oversized cashmere capes, it is as dramatic as it is sexy.
Both represent what British style is all about and are showcased alongside many other fabulous names and their A/W 06 collections such as, Aei:Kei, Aimee McWilliams, Alessandra Ferreira, Amanda Wakeley, Anna Wadsworth, Deal and Wire, Finsk, Gil Carvalho, Julia Clancey, LucyJ, Maria Grachvogel, Nicola de Main, Sado, The Branch, Tuginc,Vinnie Day and Wilbur&Gussie.

Maria Grachvogel's Glamour After Five Soiree

To celebrate the success of the last five years and thank all of her loyal fans for their support during this time, Maria hosted a fabulous party on the 19th of October at her Sloane Street store – London’s most fashionable street. Many of Maria’s closest friends, celebrities and loyal clients gathered to offer their congratulations. Guests included Marie Helvin, Lisa Butcher, Mica Paris, Tara Palmer Tomkinson, Rick Parfitt, Meredith Ostrom, Jeremy Sheffield and Jo Malone.

Maria and her VIP guests arrived at the party in style and luxury in a beautiful midnight blue Maybach car. The store was decorated with mannequins dressed in beautiful vintage Maria designs and exciting one-off show pieces from her extensive archive. The atmosphere was electric as guests enthused over the exquisite cocktails developed by Maria herself, the highlight being “Glamour after Five”, a wonderful concoction of Cointreau, vodka, passionfruit and lime muddled with sugar over crushed ice. Everyone entered into the party spirit with many guests heading on to the sizzling after-party held at hot new club Volstead, having grabbed their generous goody bag stuffed with little luxuries from L’Artisan Parfumueur, a cute Cointreau Cocktail book and a fabulous gift and voucher from Maria herself. Once in the glamorous surrounds of Volstead, the cocktails continued to flow as the tunes kicked in, encouraging all onto the dancefloor! The revelry continued well in to the early hours, and everyone agreed it was a fabulous celebration.
